Hello guys I am a newbie to the forums I have a 2002 jaguar xtype that I have has for about a year or so now it has been great but in the past two or three months I have been having some problems with cold starts. When I crank the engine from sitting overnight the engine seems to chug and iT does harshly. As I revers the revs drop so low that when I accelerate a little it takes a few seconds and then shoots up. I have been just dealing with it for this time and when the engine gets warned up it purrs like the jaguar it's supposed to. I took it to a local garage and they told me I would need my fuel system cleaned out. Any suggestions on what it could be ? Or any solutions ?
Thanks ahead of time

Early in the am, I get a really rough idle when first started. It starts right up, but will only run smooth at higher rpms. As it warms up it clears out. I'm pretty sure that its a case of my intake gaskets leaking. Being that I wanted to change the sparkplugs anyways, Its not a big deal. It sounds similar to your issue though. It will run very rough.. studder if you give it any throttle, but after it revs it will run smooth till its back to an idle. Hopefully I'll get around to picking up the parts from the dealer for this weekend. Will let you know how it goes.

Yes joeboat84 that's exactly what happens to mine exactly I read somewhere to check the MAF and it was fine u said it could be the intake gaskets? Maybe I should replace mine too it's as if there is not enough gas or oxygen getting through to combust and mine does exactly what u are saying how it will studder but when it revs higher its smooth. Let me know what you do and if it makes it any better
