connecting Iphone4 to my existing audio system
I have an xtype 2003, the audio system installed is the one with single cd no touch screen and no navigation model number 1X43-18B876-CA.
i want to know which is the exact module that i can add to the audio system in order to use the iphone for phone calls and for music, it doesn't have to be a blue tooth one its ok for me to have it connected using wires.
appreciate any helpful information.

I'm assuming at least that you have the electronic climate control....
But sadly you can't use the OEM equipment for both phone & music functions.
The Jag phone module with bluetooth only works with the phone functions, & the ACM (audio connectivity module) will not allow the phone functionality on an iphone when connected as an ipod.
Check out Jim Rothe's site Adding Accessories (aux in, iPod/iPhone, Bluetooth) to the Jaguar X-Type, S-Type and 2004-2009 XJ he's got the basics covered.
I've retrofitted the OEM Bluetooth into mine, and the music is handled by the ACM, also a retrofit. For the costs involved of fitting these two separate systems, I could have installed a complete aftermarket double-din touchscreen head unit, with Nav, Bluetooth phone, Mp3, DVD input, the lot....

Latest revision Audio Connectivity Module (ACM) is C2C40513
Bluetooth needs a number of parts depending on what's already installed in your car, my install was done with the following;
Clockwise from the bottom;
Phone module 2W93-19K350-AD (C2C 34515)
Bluetooth Module C2S 38536
D2B Cable for 3x modules, came with the Phone module (secondhand)
Loop to blank off one of the D2B units, came with my ACM
Phone loom 4X43-19A442 from a wrecker
Microphone C2C 29785 LFJ - note that the LFJ refers to the colour, in this case Nimbus Grey
Make sure you're sitting down when you get a quote from Jag!
Since you don't have the touchscreen, you'd probably need to get the phone & maybe the ACM (if you don't have a CD-changer) activated by a dealer or someone with WDS/IDS/SDD.
Have a look at the installation instructions for the phone http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11575086/MOD...othInstall.pdf and for the ACM http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11575086/619...structions.pdf

I just took my car to Best Buy and they wired in my iPod directly. I have to use the iPod to control the music, but I can live with that for now. I'd love to have a stock system where I can control the iPod through the stereo, but I'm not about to drop a ton of money for it.

Hi
I,m new to jaguar ownership and new to this website. Sorry to bring up this Bluetooth problem, but I've read a lot of the posts and the problem I have is I do have the module in the trunk and I do have BT module in the centre console but when I press the phone button I only get " NO PHONE", my iPhone can find the car & although it did pair over the weekend it will not now! The previous owner said that they had the Bluetooth disabled before they brought the car new, I checked with the dealer today and they told me the car left the factory with Bluetooth. Are there any connections behind the audio stack that my have been disconnected just to disable Bluetooth/phone?
Cheers
