Default Coolant Leak

Ive just noticed a coolant leak in the engine bay just below the turbo on a metal pipe that when I google the part number on the pipe is listed as an ERG cooler pipe on 2.0 diesel Mondeos. The part number is motorcraft 1C1Q9Y438AB. Ive been on to SNG and various other online part cos and none of them seem to list this part for my 2.2 155KW engine. Ive looked at the site of the pipe and it doesn't really justify a metal pipe, its not directly under the exhaust or turbo subject to extreme heat I can see and wondering if this is just a bit of metal pipe somebody has shoved in one day when they had a leak and didn't have the rubber hose. I need to replace the part but cant find one, thinking shall I just buy a section of normal rubber hose and replace that way?

As you can see the offending item has a part number that if you search is something completely different. I couldn't find any like for like parts listed in the limited supply chain presently, but even google didn't bring anything similar up. I took the approach that I couldn't see a reason why there was a metal pipe where it was, not directly next to an extreme heat source so went ahead and just bought a £5 piece of pipe to replace, I got a length long enough to remove any joins in the whole process but found there was one issue. The pipe has different diameters at the thermostat and cooler end, so I had to splice in a larger piece of the old pipe cutting of the end of the metal pipe in the process to use as the join. It has worked so far so job done for a bit of elbow grease and £5.
