Default Cooleant leak

Yesterday i noticed a small wet small wet spot on my pavers. As i look underneath i locate a leak what seems to look like theromostat housing? What i am looking at is in front of the engine midway up looks plastic with two clamps in one end a hose comming down to a metal looking pipe that goes to what might be the radiater. Is this the thermostat housing i am looking at? i see wetness around and on top and below of the housing which looks like held together by 8mm bolts. Any ideas? 2002 3.0 xtype. If so is it easy change? whats the average Jagprice will do thiss change. Time is precious and not enough of it t do job myslef.

thanks

The thermostat housing is a triangle flanged piece, held in place by 3 bolts, with a hose going to the oil cooler attached by a clamp. I'm not sure what you're looking at, as the diagrams don't show anything like you're discribing. I have a 2003 2.5 but both engines are basically alike, I'd go out and take a look at mine, but it's too darn cold right now, even in the garage. Sorry I can't be of much help to you.
I've got a small coolant leak also, but mine is where I rigged up a new drain line to make it easier to do coolant changes. I'm going to rectify the leak problem just as soon as the weather warms up a bit.
