Default crank but no start

one day i tried to start my car after driving it for about 10 mins and it cranked but did not start, the glow plug lights flashed while i was cranking it, i waited 5 mins and it started again on the first crank like nothing had happened.
i took this as a warning sign that my glow plugs were failing so i bought 4 new ones.

I had to make a long journey to stay with family a week later and i left my car idle in the drive before i left and it stalled. I quickly replaced the glow plugs and started the car up again like nothing happened.
I stayed overnight and the next day the car started really rough but stayed going. On the way home I had to get some diesel but the car wouldnt start again. I was stuck there for a couple of hours until it started again and got home.
Today it started like nothing ever happened and i took it for a 20 min drive and it felt really good, I tried drive it again 8 hours later and it just cranks with no start.

I have already replaced glowplugs so its not that, the old ones didnt even look bad.

i tried swapping around the relay switch with another one but no difference

the next cheaper option would be the ignition switch

after that ill probably get another high pressure fuel pump

Did anyone else have this problem?

I'm thinking I could try a crank sensor but I don't want to buy parts if I don't need them , them cam sensor would hardly cause this or would it?

Default *Update*

*Update*

I tried the old ford cam sensor but it made no difference.

I sprayed a load of carb cleaner into the intake until there was a little puddle of it and put everything back together and cranked the car.

She started, it was kinda rough but it worked, this is making me think the fuel pump is bad or maybe the compression is low

Idk about diesel. If it were petrol (gas), I'd suggest trying the fuel pressure sensor right next to the coolant sensor.

That could be similar for the diesel, what ever sensor regulates the fuel might be under performing for me now.

Also ever since I sprayed the carb cleaner into the intake she has started every time , 4 times in fact.

Hopefully my car will stay starting, if it doesn't ill add more car cleaner and report back
