Default cv boot replacement

so here I go... 02 xtype sport, had an accident a few weeks ago on my way to work, ran over some boxes, minor body damage, take car to body shop last week, they pulled the car into the spray booth and noticed right away there is,"a pretty bad leak, something red, maybe tranny, checked power steering fluid, no problems there." so they are going to check tomorrow, possibly split a boot. how tough is this? and how do you put more tranny fluid in? any help appreciated, Bill

red fluid does not come from the CVU boot. most likely you have some tranny damage, or if your lucky maybe just a tranny cooler leak. Putting more fluid in while it's leaking kinda defeats the purpose no?

The CVU contains grease. It's usually black and clumpy.
