That looks good. Personally I like the 3k kit and that is what I would have done. Now the sweet thing is they've got projector fog light kits on ebay my buddy put on his bonne and they are awesome...they cut off just like stock projectors are supposed to and they look good with his 6k headlight and fogs.

The marker lights are pretty freaking bright there 310! What happens when you go down lower and get into the eye of the light for pics? Try seeing what you can do with it! I want to see what those marker lights look like and what the 3k kit looks like coming at people.

i installed my HID fogs today. I have an 05' and it takes the H11 bulbs, the bulbs just droped right in! no need to drill anything! it was very easy and this right up heled alot. the one thing i did change is i used self tapping screws not sticky tape. I was concerned the ballast might fall if i used tape. they look good.

i will take some pictures tonight. if you guy's remember the mydepots guy sent me the wrong bulbs the first time i ordered lights from him. he sent me H11's... i contacted him and he sent me the correct bulbs H1's for my headlights. At the time i had an 03' which has H1's in fog and main lamps. Well I now have an 05' and it takes the H11 in the fogs! I messaged the mydepots guy and asked for some ballast. He charged me $45 shipped for the ballast! it all worked out well!

Did he charge you to send the correct bulbs jv? I'm surprised he helped you out with that and let you keep the bulbs.

So he screwed up and charged you 20 to ship the correct bulbs? What a guy! It works since they fit your fogs but they wouldn't otherwise...

I am considering upgrading my fog lights to HIDs to match the bulb colors. The question that I have is this: what is the temperature rating of the stock HID bulbs? Are they 4300K or 5000K (seems to be the general idea on the boards, JTIS doesn't talk about temp)?

The other thing that I am considering is possibly upgrading to say 6000K bulbs (if the stock ones are only 4300K) to get a brighter white light and then going with the same in the fogs. Is upgrading the HID bulbs as easy as simply sliding the higher temp bulb in there or do you need to upgrade the ballast too?

The 6k isn't as bright as 4300 or 5k from what I can remember. I'd say get a 4300k kit or 5k kit if you can find one. I had a 6k in my mains and I was shocked how blue they were. I figured an 8k kit or higher would be blue. I wanted the stock hid look but mydepot didn't have any, but overall U was pretty happy with the outcome. If I could choose I'd stick with as close to stock as possible. Don't bother with changing out your stock hids, you'll be happy with the 4300-5k kit.

Let me know if you want some pics of my hids and I can show you some...I don't have very good pics of the lights head on but decent ones on a cement wall and stuff...

Aquill, ideally I am wanting the fogs to be the exact same color as the factory bulbs. Would the temperature rating be written on the bulb by chance (or possibly on the outside somewhere)? I can get HID kits for around $80 and wiring them up is easy. Granted, I would much rather have one that simply attaches to the stock location vice having to modify a base to make it all work. But, if it needs to be done, I will do it. This would be a very minor mod to some things I have done.

I never did the fogs but I'm sure it's not too bad, especially with an imaginative mind like I'm sure you have. The stock color for all oem hids is 4300k from everything I've researched and read. Personally no matter what others will say I say the more stock looking the better but I was happy with my 6k kit.

This is from sylvania: LINK TO THE SITE HERE

I can't remember the specifics on the replacement. I think (not for sure though) from what I can remember I thought if I wanted to add hids to my fogs (I had the same h1 bulbs the 04 or 05 newer require the h3 I think) I would have just had to drill a hole in the back of the metal plate that was on the fog lights and silicone it up to make sure no debris could get into the fogs. Personally though if your fogs are in as bad of shape as mine were you might want to think about getting all new fog light assemblies as well as hids for it. They aren't hard to get at and you just have to remove the bottom black panel/splash panel that protects the radiator and engine and what not.

if you have the 04-05 it takes the H-11 and there is no mod necessary.

aquill, I just referbished my fog lights. I sanded the fronts and clear coatedthe lens to make it clear again (never got a straight answer with this). So, the fog lights are in good condition. Ultimately I am wanting something that replaces the light base (for best seal). But, like I said, what is available is what I can make work.

As for the Sylvania bulb spec, it just says that it is a factory spec D2S bulb, haven't found a heat number to it. From what I have read in other places, it most likely is the 4300K bulb as this is the brightest bulb of the range and would be the most desireable for the general person. I did find lumen ratings of the various temp bulbs should others be interested in them.

Oh I was just posting the sylvania specs to show you the bulb type needed for the x. I told jvegas (sorry about that again) that our x's all had h1 bulbs which isn't the case. The 04-newer don't have h1 bulbs(h11 rather.)

I don't know any other thing for the fogs that would help you out though. My guess is silicone and fabrication are your friend! LOL

just today someone at a stop light complimented me on my HID fogs... as for the temp it is around 4,300. Good luck finding an aftermarket kit with that rating at a some what reasonable price.

jvegas, there are kits all over the place on E-bay that are down in the $80-90 range. I'm sure if I do some looking, can find it even cheaper. They offer the bulbs as low as 3000K and up to 30000K.
