Is different transfer case fluid required for 02-03 models vs. 04-08?
Given that the transfer case design changed substantially in 2004, does anyone know if the newer transfer cases use the same fluid as the earlier ones? Most of the transfer case fluid change threads on this forum involve older cars and call for JTIS Spec: M2C192A synthetic, SAE 75W140 synthetic gear lubricant.
Brutal, RealTech or any of the other Jag certified techs, if you're reading this thread, would one of you be able to confirm whether the fluid spec for the later cars is the same as the earlier cars, and whether there are any friction modifiers required? I've got a 2005 X-Type 3.0, and don't want to mess up the transfer case by putting the wrong fluid in it.
Thanks all.
