Dont laugh at HID mishap....
One of the guys on the .co.uk forum has had a bit of an experience fitting his HIDs....thought you guys might like to see how he got on

The good news is I ordered H1 Hids pack from xxxxxx.xxxx, one of our members on Thursday and they arrived this morning the Bad news is that the mrs has got hold of them and hid them for xmas i wonder if this is why they are called HIDS?

Well Hids fitted at last after 4 bl00dy hours starts at 11-45am as follows
1st....set up myself ready to do job and it starts to rain
2nd....turned round and cracks my head off garage door
3rd....lifts garage door a little higher so as to pull car under to get a bit protection from weather and head pulls door off its wires (30 mins, to rehang garage door)
4th....took an hour to fit the Hids in the drivers side being the most restrictive for space
5th.... had drivers window open for easy access to light switch when the snow decides to release itself for the house roof and deposit itself on my drivers seat (15 mins. to clean that up)
6th....decides it's time for a cuppa and stue slips flat on my ar.e and spills coffee down the lower portion of my right leg
7th....took over an hour to fit the clip for the bulb never mind the cover on the so called easier passengers side resulting in a lightning type of cramp shooting thro my left hip
8th... jumps up from cramp and this time cracks the back of my head on garage door
9th.... starts to try and refit cover on back of light taking the skin off the back of hand
10th.... lowers garage door to check headlight beam pattern which i had priviously marked with tape on the said door to find that I had indeed locked the fooking keys in the garage...
11th... after a further 20 mins. looking for spare garage keys I decide to check the beam pattern and find I have only gone and flattened the battery with the 4 hour use of my inspection lamp and had to start looking for the radio code
any way, I was blind and now I can see....(after bump starting down the drive)
ps nursing a bad back after all that leaning over

Boy, someone had a rough old day. Granted, I can relate to that. Atleast he didn't end up in the hospital or doing a high voltage dance touching the wires with the start up of the HIDs. That will make you twitch. That would have been the icing on the cake as the saying goes. Granted, I think he got the frosty stuff on the seat, so, close enough.

A while back he parked his drive (which slopes down to the main road) and went in the house where shortly afterwards his son asked him of he had put the handbrake on."Yes" he said so his son asked "then why is your car blocking traffic on the main road?".Turned out he had to have his handbrake changed at a dealer from automatic to manual (or vica-versa?)!
