I am having the same issue with my driver door, I was told awhile back that it operates slightly different than normal rod actuated door handles, as where (from what i was told, and this may 100% BS) it uses a cable instead of a rod that "is" adjustable at some point in the operation. by loosening an anchor point and pulling the cable taught in the system and re-tightening the nut, haven't had the time to fuss with as it seems worse in the summer mothes so it almost winter, and i am a pro at putting thing until later and door panel removal even with the how-to in the FAQ section scares me, theres so many little do-dads in the X, i don't want something to stop functioning. When i get the rest of my stereo upgrade ordered I will replace my door speakers and take a gander at the handle assembly while I'm in there.
I hope what I have told you is correct, I don't like giving false info, but no one else had chimed in so I thought I would at least try. :-) good luck and take pictures and post your finding for the rest of us.
