Door opening from inside, not outside

Door opening from inside, not outside
Hi guys,
I have a weird problem, my passenger front door is only opening from the inside, not the outside. It's been like this for a while, only you'd pull and pull and pull the outside door handle finally something would grab and the door would open, this stopped. The door doesn't open from the outside any longer. The inside is totally fine, works every time. So, what could it possibly be? I know the door isn't locked, because I played locking and unlocking the car while someone pulled it and nothing. Is there something inside the door that could have possibly broke, making it so it doesn't open any longer? Also, how do you take the door cover off?
Any help would be appreciated...
