Default Door Sensor Problems

Hi Guys,
I am new here as I have just purchased a Jag X type for my missus, after having a horrible Clio for 7 years!

She is loving it but I have noticed that when we are going along the door sensor light is staying on. There is some sporadic flashing where it will go off, but it is few and far between.

Can anyone tell me the best way to locate the issue (I am quite hands-on myself so I am willing to get dirty if needed!)

Any help on this would be appreciated

Thanks
PJ

I would suggest that you lubricate the latch mechanism in each door as a first step because it is the latch mechanism that triggers the warning.

I agree.

I had the same issue a few months back. Hosing down the latches thoroughly with WD40 fixed it.

The only thing to remember is that WD40 is a solvent, so it "unsticks" things but it has no residual lubricating properties.
The very best lubricant I have found (and used for years) has a dual function: it is RUST CHECK, a superior rustproofing for internal panels AND a fantastic lubricant for all lock mechanisms - harmless to paint and rubber and electrical connections.
