EBC Brake pads

EBC Brake pads
Hi guys I'm in the process of overhauling the brakes on my 2.2d X type, and have just received the replacement discs for the front and are now looking for a decent low noise replacement pad. I've seen the EBC ultimax, and various other colour coded versions they produce for differing situations. I'm thinking of getting a set but thought Id post here first so the questions I have are
1. has anybody on here used them?
2. If so what do you think of them?
3. do you get much noise / vib through them?
4. Anything I should be aware of when buying?
(part 2 of Q3 for the ladies ;-))
Thanks for your reply in advance

Hiya, I've used Green Stuff pads on many different cars, they're low dust, last well and there are no noise issues, they have a thin running in coating that you might just hear, but that's very short lived. I wouldn't use the other colours as they're primarily for high performance and need to warm up. Good luck, Martin.

I run EBC Ultimax Blackdash slotted rotors (no longer black) and Red Stuff pads (ceramic).
Being I am running slotted rotors, I do have some braking noise. My only complaint is that the rotors rust very easily. If there is a rain and I park the vehicle, the rotors are covered in rust the next day.
very minimal dust from the redstuff pads.

Thanks 91, are you using the car for road or track?

Thanks Martin, Id ended up at this conclusion but struggling to part with £80 for a set... I'm now edging towards just a bog standard replacement set. I use the car to drive round town and sometimes put my foot down on the motorway when its not standing traffic, so don't think ill get the benefit of the high performance set.
