Default Electrical faults.

Now theres a surprise..

I have a 2006 X type diesel classic (?) ..the carbon fibre dash so a base model.

A few things...
I replaced the turbo actuator..having had it put on a professional reader (mine does nothing) it still takes a while to start and a few seconds to come out of limp.
Apparently it is showing no engine codes.
The off side (RH) dip beam keeps blowing fuses....I suspect the way round this is to connect it to the n/s lamp.

More irritatingly, I cant open the fluffing tailgate...it has moments but has usually rectified itself after a while..now it wont open at all. I cant hear the solenoid clicking in the tailgate..is this likely to need a new one? And am I going to be crawling into the back to get the cover off and swap it? Or is there another way to get the b*gger open?
I know..I should have looked while it was working...BTW, the glass doesn't open on this one...should it?
The other gripe is the o/s door mirror, managed to break it, bought a glass but it doesn't have the mountings on the rear...are they separate or do I need to get a main dealer one?
There you are..5 problems for the price of one...........

Yours must be an estate, the glass should open with the switch under the ridge below the rear wiper. The switch often has problems due to the ribbon cable wearing though or water ingress.

yes..its an estate. As its a base I don't think the glass does open, but its the gate itself that lets me down.
I have now bought a s/h mechanism for it.

Apologies I thought it was the tail glass that was causing issues. If the solenoid if clicking then the problem is in the mechanism. If it isn't opening at all then I would imagine it will be a messy strip down job.

The Door mirror should be the same as Ford mirrors and have the fitting attached to the back, if not you might need to strip the old glass from the fittings.

Fitted a s/h lock mech....the tail gate glass mechanism is all there, ec=xcept for the switch under the rear wiper...it appears to be a solid piece.
Tail gate works, so hey ho! Now watch it fail!

Default Interior light keeps coming on

Help
where do I start?
the interior light has been coming on for a while. I now have a warning that passenger door is open coming on at the same time.
bizzarly it seems that if I press the windscreen washer it triggers the fault.
any ideas

Spray some electrical cleaner/lube into the mechanism, then actuate it several times. Our Jags get gummed up after a while and the connections stick.
