thanks for sharing that with us but unfortunately my car stalls whether it has half a tank or a full tank. I tried to gage when it would stall but no coorelation to the amount of fuel in the tank and no codes were given when my car stalled. But I will try buying a new gas cap. why not right? I will keep you guys updated. Thanks! I wonder why a brand new gas cap made solved your problem?? strange?

 

Update: I just picked up the car from my mechanic. He replaced the fuel pump. I drove it home and so far no stalling. It feels much better and I don't have to worry about stalling in the highway with no shoulder.

When you told him the car had no regulator, what did he say? Just curious?

 

plugs are easy, its the pulling up the intake thats fun, but still only a handful of 8mm's and a few 10'sand I just replaced apump for this issue in an x, had a fuel guage taped to the windshield to monitor as it never died for me, only the customer.....Well next morning it wouldnt start at all, yep pump, and it pulled too many amps and blew the fuse under the dash for it too. You could wait till it totally fails, orhook up a fuel pressure gauge to monitor when it stalls, but from what you describeI would lay money on the pump and just be done. at least be nice and take it in almost empty since you have to drop the drive shaft and front of the diff to drop the tank. EDIT::::sorry didnt read every 44 posts and just relized you got it fixed already..........

No problem brutal, I appreciate your effort to try and help. I know I have to replace the plugs but after spending $800 bucks, its on the to do list. I'll see how my car handles the NJ state inspection this month 1st.

As far as the regulator, he said thats what the dealer quoted him and he said he would take a look when the pump arrived. I didn't ask him since he didn't charge me for it and he said it was most likely the pump anyways.
