errorcodes and flashing lamps?
Hi everyone and I hope u all understand my bad english.
I have an Jaguar X-type estate Diesel year 2004.
One day when I started my car the lamp for dieselignition started to flash, you know the lamp that look like a pritzel thats on all dieselcars.
And also the enginelamp was lit all the time. They are both yellow.
The mechanic that has the car got the errorcodes 0251 and 2338.
Does anyone have an idea what can be wrong? Would really help me a lot since the mechanic I use isnt specialized in Jaguar, and unfortunately I have over 20 miles to the closest jaguarshop.
Sincerely
Jessica

It may be a Jaguar, but the diesel engine isn't anything special. I understand it is also used in other non-Jaguar Ford products.
The warning light the looks like a pretzel is actually meant to signify a coil, and when it illuminates it means there is a problem with one or more of the glow plugs.

They measured the glowingplugs and some of them were bad so they changed them all, but the two lamps are still lit, well the pretzel lamp is flashing. I forgot to say that when the two lamps were lite the car went down in some emergency driving mode so its like almost hald the horsepowers now and when the car starts cold it sounds like its going on only three cylinders.
Just so there is no misunderstanding, both of the lamps were lit at the same time so I guess they have some relevance to each other in this case.
