I use it as well for more spirited driving ... same way I'd use the tap-shift in other cars. Makes it more fun in town. You can really feel the HP if you let it get up into the higher RPMs.
My 3.0 sport actually has a very nice exhaust note for a six cylinder.

is the j thing just where it shows 234 then across D ? Meaning where u simply can put it in park neutral drive 432

I J-gate all the time. I also leave it in 4 for driving off highway. 4 seems to be go for up to about 50 mph. After that I shift to D. Sometimes I'll pop it into 2 or 3 when going up a hill. Lots of good power.

If you have the normal/sport function switch, in normal mode it will shift to 5th gear at 40mph. In sport mode it will shift to 5th gear at 50-55mph. I've found that the J-stick trans in sport mode will down shift as your speed decreases similar to what you would do with a manual trans. I enjoy this trans because if you listen to the engine sound when you're accelerating it sounds almost like a manual when shifting.

Yup. If you look at it, it is in the shape of a J. for Jaguar I wold have to guess.
