extreme cold weather DSC fault?

extreme cold weather DSC fault?
I have a 2006 3.0 automatic Jaguar type. I live in Pennsylvania and the weather here has been frigid this winter.I've noticed that when the temperatures dip into the single digits or colder and I engage my emergency break over night that when I warm up the car the next morning and leave that a DSC fault comes up. LOL, my car actually spun around on me the other morning almost causing me to hit my neighbors fence. Once i've driven the car a few miles and stop to get gas or ciggs and shut the car off and then return to my car a few minutes later that the code disappears and all is well. This has happened three times this winter. I now just don't engage the E-break overnight when it's that cold and have not had a problem since. I was just curious if anyone else has had this same problem or have heard of this before, or if it's just one of the idiosyncrasies of owning a Jag.
Thank you in advance for anyone that may have some input on this.

Hey steve,
Here in Chicago we are toughing out a brutal winter as well! My X-Type just can’t be stopped! I also have the dreaded DSC fault which comes on to ruin my day every so often. Lights up randomly, but AWD still seems to work. IDK. Fault codes tell me that I have a rear o2 sensor going bad, and that’s all. However, whatever the case may be, I’d bet that your problem has nothing to do with the emergency brake. Plug her into a code reader and see what comes up. Anyway, I like your use of the word, “idiosyncrasies.” Let’s just chalk it up to that and enjoy the awesome ride! I just installed a cold air intake on my ’03 Katrina and man o’ man does she scream! I figured, plenty of cold air, right? What the hell? Claims to boost hp by 12. I’d have to believe it! Vroom! Gotta post a pic. Looks classy as hell, too!. Cheers!

Hi Steve,
I think you're safe to leave the E brake or (handbrake for the UK) off overnight and with wheels turned if you're uphill parking and gears in park!
Certainly I could be wrong but going by what you've said I'm sure its the handbrake sticking, re your swift turnabout.
Edit, come to think of it, I think the light you mention is the DSC light and usually that indicates it's working and it warns you of extreme
temperatures because that's when you really need it.
Relax it's working as it should!
I dont think its anything to worry about and I used to have your model. Remember your gloves Regards, Stu

Hi again Steve,
I originally misread your first post, you say the DSC FAULT light comes on.
As I said if it goes out after driving you should be fine but definately leaving the E brake OFF is recommended and re the light, I was thinking it was the DSC lighting up on the console as I saidto say it's "engaged" whilst you are on slippy/icy or snowy /gravel type surfaces.
I didn't do a good job of saying that, hope you understand and all things are good?
Regards, Stu
