Default Fan runs all the time. replaced control module, high only. turns off. battery drains

2002 X-Type radiator cooling fan runs all the time, even when engine shuts off. Replaced control module, Now fan operates on high only, but turns off when engine shut off. Also, now battery drains until dead.

Are you low on coolant? That could account why the fans run when the car is running. Has the car overheated at all?

Will your car start now or when you say the "battery drains until dead" do you mean now nothing happens when you try and turn the key to start the car?

How old is your battery?

Did you replace the fan control module with one of the Asian internet ones?

I suffered this problem. Turned out to be a faulty engine temp sensor.

Battery relatively new. Tested and OK.
Not low on coolant.
Battery drains while engine is turned off. Negative wire hot to the touch.

That's your problem. The amazon Asian fan controllers don't work correctly.
