Default Fault Code Help

Hi Guys,

It's been ages since I have been on, but work has taken over at the minute

I finally got around to picking up a bluetooth OBDII scanner, and hooked it up to the X-Type.

I got the following codes through when I first scanned:-

P0037
P1338
P1532
P1646
P1699

I cleared all the codes however P0037 and P1646 continue to show after re-scanning and a new code showed up, P1000.

I know the P0037 is an Oxy sensor, but the other codes I have no idea on...

So, I was hoping one of the experts may be able to help me out? :-)

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

Here's the definitions and possible causes for your DTC list:

P1000 is nothing to worry about. It indicates diagnostic monitor drive cycles HAVE NOT BEEN COMPLETED since the last memory clear. It will be replaced with P1111 when the tests are completed.

Hi Graham,

Thanks very much for the list.

By the looks of it, the only codes that are continuing to show up are P0037 and P1646.

The other codes must have just been from when car had been in/came out of long term storage.

By linking the codes above would it make sense that they would relate to the same issue? One of the HO2 sensors?

I checked the sensors, and #1 is showing as only receiving 0.006V and the #2 was showing as receiving 8.00V therefore it looks that #1 is the culprit!

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

The two remaining DTC's certainly point to Bank 1 HO2 Sensors.

With any Jaguar coming out of long term storage, all kinds of weird electrical faults can turn up. Before condemning the sensors, it would be worth clearing the codes again and running through the HO2 Sensor Monitor Drive Cycle:

Also check the harness connections.
