Find Burst Air intake pipes ??
Hey again
I am getting a Sucking noise when accelerating ,
its 2005 2.0 lt diesel x-type
From the forms , Its a burst air intake pipe ..
about 4 moths ago I paid local Deal 300 euro to fix this F**k S*ke
after cleaning the EGR value , change the thermostat and cylinder
head temp sensor , I have become familiar with under the hood
But I can not locate any burst pipes?
(I have not taken them out )
Has anyone any hints on how to spot a burst intake pipe with
having to take it out?

with the engine running, transmission in park or neutral. Spray the various pipes with something like a can of brake kleen, when it hits the leak, the rpms will rise briefly.
Remember to spray under the hoses too.
Thats the quickest and easiest way. Though do not be shocked if this does not locate the leak

it was a broken screw..
Cheers Iowme
I have a diesel , couldn't get brake kleen , so went to use lighter gas..
(if I am going to die, it will be doing something i like)
When I start looking , I noticed the Nut lose on the EGR value
on further inspection, the Screw was snapped..
I am going to assume I over tightened it even thought the dealer
replaced the pipe under it only few months ago .
anyway,, Replace the nut,, Easy
Went to the dealer and they told me it it not sold on its own
but as part of the intake manifild ,, and would cost 240 Euro (about 300 dollars)
When I said that was mental, he went into ,, 'the computer says' loop
anyhow
If any one knows the Part number of the screw will
search the internet thingy
