Did your car originally come with navigation or are you trying to retrofit a nav system in it?

Here's a good read regarding retrofitting nav to a non-nav X-Type. It's a lot more complex than plugging in a few cables and installing the nav DVD player.

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...s-info-102632/

The navigation CD's are now obsolete and haven't been updated in years making accurate navigation pretty much impossible. I personally updated my (non-nav) head unit with a Kenwood
DMX706S, and use a Garmin Nuvi 2598LMTHD for navigation.

IF I had this to do (mine has sat/nav) I wouldn't. I'd follow member Dennis Black's posts on replacing either of the options on X's (w & w/o sat/nav) with aftermarket units which give you everything wanted and needed. Nav (current not years out of date as the Jag DVD is), bluetooth, back up camera, hands free phone, video, audio, etc.
