Default More story

we painted her the original Westminster blue. Took a little research to find but super happy with the color match. The original wheels on this 87 were the mags but we replaced them with the wire spoke wheels from the donor car. I think it’s an 84 xj6. With lots of good spare parts on it. Our next big project on the 87 is replacing the axle seals, calipers, brake pads on rear axle. New headliner, engine freeze plugs, we already replaced, front seats, paint, wheels, reconditioned wisdow switches, replace alternator, replaced headlights with modern setup to see the deer at night, fuel pump, tires, front windshield, aftermarket stereo, both fuel tank gages, rubber fuel hoses, windshield wipers, dash topper, front brake pads, had two extra sets o keys made, temperature sending unit, rack and piñon steering assembly, new after market rack and piñon steering bushings a month after replacing with factory originals, now steering is tight and stiff like it should be, still need to reupholster the rear seat, we have to manually switch between heat and air conditioning since computer controller is bad. Converted to modern air conditioning coolant, replaced spark plugs and wires, we think this is the 87 Van Den Plas model. Replaced the vacuum booster for brakes, new battery, bug bombed the car the day we got it as there was an ant village that colonized the drivers floor board area. Weeks of course had grown into the engine compartment and there was a squirrel nest under the hood. And we did a whole lot of reading and learning and troubleshooting. Jarod is super proud of this car. We purchased the pair for $1500. Pretty happy with how it has gone.
