Red face Flooded Jaguar 2000 X-Type v6

Hi All,

I am in panic mode here. I had a great car and then hit a flash flood- water went up to mid bumper level. I waited about 2 hours and the parking lot drained. I started the car and some water spit out of the exhausts but I assumed I was in the clear. I sucked all the water out of car shop vacced the carpet, moved the seats and now my car keeps stalling.

My mechanic says I need an alternator (he load tested the battery) and active suspension control module and a body control module - any ideas where to find these all parts. It seems every website I go to stops at Jaguar X-Type 2001 - I need used parts for a 2000 X-Type v6.

God Bless and thanks

Welcome to the forum gerrigale911,

I've copied this post from your Intro thread for advice from members with the same model.

Try forum sponsor S N G Barratt for the parts:

www.sngbarratt.com/us/#!/English/home

I checked your first requirement and the alternator is listed.

Graham

Reach out to Dr Dome. He parts out x-types and can get you what you need. Call or text 484-903-4813.

You sure you're talking about an X type (x400) and not another model that starts with an X?

Look on the inside of the (LHD) driver's door, the sticker for mfg month and year along with paint code and interior color are there.
There were no 2000 made.

gerrigale911: Module Repair Pro in Van Nuys, California repairs a variety of auto electronic modules including for our Jaguars. The owner and electronics expert Yevgeniy "Gino" Nabedrik is very responsive and honest. He rebuilt the ABS / DSC electronics module for my 2002 X-Type. I don't know if he repairs the modules you need, but Gino will quickly reply if you e-mail him. His website is: www.shop.modulerepairpro.com

gerrigale911: My experience is limited, thankfully, to rebuilding the ABS / DSC electronics module. After Gino Nabedrik / Modular Repair Pro replaced the power supply capacitors and loose internal wires, no reprogramming was required. I simply installed the repaired module and cleared the error codes for a fresh start.
