1. Full synthetic 75W-140 gear lube (meeting "M2C 192A Synthetic"). Pretty much, this is any full synthetic gear lube out there.

2. Castrol BOT 130M fluid.

3. ATF IDEMITSU K17 (Jatco 3100 PL085). As I recall, this is your standard Mercon V fluid which is a full synthetic tranny fluid. If it has the Mercon V seal on it, you are good to go.

4. Same as stated in 2.

5. This also uses the 75W-140 fluid as stated in 1. As long as it has the GL specification called out on the bottle, you are good to go. That will meet all the requirements that you will need for the car.

I used MT-90 in my manual transmission. It seems fine. Perhaps a slight improvement in shifting.

MarkC: I bought a RedLine MT-90. I am going to replace the manual trans fluid sometime this week. I have read conflicting reports of how much fluid is needed, a quart or two? Also, the tran fluid is drained by opening loose the drain hex nut at the bottom right?

MT-90 is a GL-4 oil typically used for manual transmissions, and is the appropriate viscosity for X-Type manuals. It is not appropriate for either the transfer case or the differential. You will need 1.8 qts for the manual transmission.

Of Redline's products, 75w140NS is the appropriate weight oil for the transfer case and differential. It is a GL-5 oil, which will sustain the higher pressures of those applications. The transfer case takes 0.6 qts, and will expel any excess out the vent hole at the top of the transfer case. If you overfill, it may take several weeks before you stop smelling excess, vented gear oil, but you won't hurt anything beyond causing a stain on your garage floor.

FWIW, the rear differential takes 1.2 qts.

Do yourself a favor, and order an extra quart of 75w140NS for the transfer case. It's too easy to spill the whole load when you're filling the case from the drain plug, as is typical of some filling procedures.

*Do your homework about the fill procedure BEFORE you pull that drain plug!*
