Which brand did you get? I want to verify they aren't the same ones I got:
Lightweight Hashimoto V50 rear upper control arms

did this mod last night

used the moog part 1002 for the volvo from rock auto

seated the adjustment to the fully seated position after removing the stop nut.

I will not be getting an alighnment since there is no room for adjustment.

the bolts seemed to be not playing nice but found that some tension was relieved when i let the front tires touch the ground and put a jack under the rear spring arm and raised slightly . The front bolt was easier to get an impact gun on. so i used some penatrant and worked the bolt in/out slowly until it moved freely. once the front bolt was out , the rear bolt moved much more freely but again required in out action to fully free up.

once either of the bolts was out the hub seemed to want to hang outwards which does put some outward tension on the driveshaft. the seemed to be lessoned by positioning the jack outward as support.

job took me about 2 hours for the first side and and about 45 minutes for the second. first time probbly had an extra 30 to 40 minutes just getting the right tools and figuring it out.

overall an easy job. i did measurements before and after and it seems the new arms pushed the top it out 1/4 inch exactly.

That's the same brand as above. But FYI not everyone had issues with this brand.

In another thread, UK member said this after market fix (the parts) not available. So I found the parts, figured I would post here as well. BTW, this is the main mfg. you can search suppliers if this part as well. Here in the US they are about half the cost from UK, same part, lol.

Mevotech brand part number has a couple, one looks to be a bit beefier than the other.

Default Installed Mine Today!!!

So after reading this thread I was happy to find a solution to the negative camber issue, I've owned my X-Type for almost 10 years and I absolutely love the car. The only confusion that I've had is the Rear Camber issue and the destroying of tires, so having found this Thread I quickly jumped into action. I installed the arms today, and for the 1st time ever the rear wheels are straight, however it now appears that the rear of the car is sitting higher than it always has, and the car doesn't feel as tight at speed as it once was is this normal, and will it correct itself as I get used to the new ride?

Optical illusion, lol. It's not "squatting" now, the height increase is so marginal it would be hard to measure. Maybe the ride "feel" is the slight bushing give that was buggered on the old set?

Well add me to the list of people that have had the lightweight control arms fail on them. I put them on a few months ago and I've put 11,000 miles on them. The inboard bushings are GONE. Guess I need to order something different. I may keep this set and see about putting some new bushings in there that aren't garbage, LOL.
What ones have people used that did NOT fail?

Those heavy ones I got do the job: https://www.ebay.com/itm/370948395270?rmvSB=true

Lose the "front" bolt. Knock the rear lock bolt to half that size. (or take it off, if you're brave).

Good morning guys,

I joined this forum after reading this thread completely.
My 2005 X-Type with 220,000 miles is getting pretty bad on tires. I have ordered a pair of the rear Volvo adjustable arms, but what about the front? Could it be simply worn front coil springs causing the excessive camber?

My plan is to work on the rear, as I am aware that the front follows the rear in suspension. Once I get that done, I will see where I sit and make a decision on the front springs. Any thoughts here would be great.

Thanks.
Danny

Danny, if you have any questions, let me know. I think you will find this mod pretty easy. The big thing is to get out there a day or two before and start spraying all the fasteners really good with something like PB Blaster or some other rust dissolving fluid to make removing the bolts easier.

Danny: This post has a picture of how I adjusted the front camber on my X-Type. It's not conventional, but it worked.

D Nok, those look like the ones that I put on my car. The only thing that you will need to do is remove the locking nut at the heim joint. This will allow you to screw in the heim joint just the little bit more that is needed to ensure the rear wheels can get a proper alignment.
