Hello.
All done and the tire toe look like o.k. now.
Mechanic took off each 1 nut at upper arm.
The old bush was very bad shape and it had bad noise and all fixed.(70,000km)
Took me long time but I am happy and thank you so much again for your help!!
I am grateful that the problem was resolved before it snowed in winter.

Hey Thermo, ever had any issues over the last 9yrs with the Volvo rear upper arms? A few of the links don’t work anymore so I’m searching for the “right” arms, proactively, and thought I’d see if these have been problem free for you.
2003 Volvo S40? How did you find/know what the degree cambers needed to be?
If you read Thermo's original post (the beginning of this thread) he explains how he came to buy and install them initially (with pictures) After install you still need to get a 4 wheel alignment heeding some Jag techs in this forum that you align the REARS first on an X type (which caught my guy by surprise after wearing my set of tires to bald in a very short time after initial alignment after front suspension replacement. New tires, alignment rear first, no problem since).
I have "Thermo'd" uppers on mine and have never had any problem
Do instruct the shop at alignment that you do now have "adjustable" arms with instructions on how to do the adjustment correctly.

Thanks Dell! My next project. Plan to replace the control arms. Still no solution on the forum for front camber adjustment I presume? Read quite a few threads and unless I missed one, it still seems impossible….
ugotmale, I sold my X-Type 6 years ago. I can't say that paying attention to all those that replaced the arms that anyone has had an early failure. I think a few had to put a new set of arms on the vehicle, but I would suspect that if they were one of the first ones to do the mod.
As for finding arms, like others have said, do a search for "volvo S40 adjustable arm". You should be able to find a lot of options. From there, pick one that meets what you think you want.
As for front camber, if I remember right, there are adjustments on the lower control arm where the shock meets the arm. That should make up for any adjustment that you would need.
