Default Gear stick Chrome

I have a 2003 X-Type which I am tidying up a few bits on and I have a problem. The chrome lifting ring on the gearstick is worn and it seems it costs around £100.00 to buy the complete thing . I could try and rechrome it. Is this a common thing or can I find a used one ?

It's a part of the gear lever which is not sold separately, unfortunately.

Like so, also check eBay, just make sure the one you choose has a good-condition chrome ring:

The link Aonsaithya has given you in post #2 is a supplier of used X-Type parts in Newcastle-upon-Tyne (about 150 miles from you).

If they can't help, other specialist Jaguar breakers in the North of England are:

Home - Jaguar Spares Northeast

Jaguar Parts and Jaguar Spares from Eurojag

There are several more in the Midlands and the South East.

An alternate idea...
Graft a Black Top half from a Cougar onto the chrome lower half
I was going for less chrome with mine

Not worn on mine, which is fairly old being a 2001 model.

I recall someone telling me they had removed the pull-up ring completely to make it easier to fit a wooden gear knob, however, I'm not sure it's a good idea since that'd make it fairly easy to engage reverse by mistake.
