Hello I'm new here. I have ano X type with a hot start problem. I'm going to change the ecu to try and sort this out. Do the part numbers have to match if I change locks clocks ecu and keys I know all of these have to come from the same car but all the ecus I have looked at say they are conpatible with 01 to 09 X types but the part numbers are not all the same. I would be greatfull for any help.

Hi Gerard
The keys have to be programmed into the car, the remote is relatively simple but the actual key head is specialised, although the guy at Timpson's seems to think he can do it for around £30... I'm yet to find that out since covid. The door locks / handles are interchangeable no programming needed, there is also a GEM which works the alarm and central locking and interior lights system, there are a number of versions of these, that are specific to your car, if you look at the colour, on the box its a good indication to start with, when matching. The ECU is a separate module this might give you a heads up for programming etc https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ptions-194959/ Hope that helps, good luck
