this is why you should come to youre bestest friends on the forum before you spend a major amount of money on repairs. i own an automotive business and i have a supplier of direct fit rebuilt oem catalytic convertors, i couldve sourced one and shipped it too you for about $450.00 and i know the labor isnt more than $300 anywhere. i can get a used oem stereo for about $75 and installation on that at an audio shop shouldnt be more than $125. as far as the transmission, they seldom go out on these cars but they do leak and the transmission control modules are know to get wet during rain and burn up, sometimes a transmission flush and refill will make a tranny which seems to be dead feel brand new.
