Angry Got scammed...HARD (X-type 2.0d)

Hello fellow Jag owners!

Long story short-
So there I was, with an overheated engine with no power and next to a local service.

And what happened next was engine change for another engine.
So I was told (and charged). Paid the money, got the car back. Still feels like the same old overheated engine with absolutely no power, still makes the same old metallic knocking sound and still is stuttering, just like the old, broken, engine.
Is there a way to prove that the engine was not changed? Serial number or a code on the engine block, that can prove that it is the engine car came from factory with?
I would like to get my 2 month salary back from those scam artists.

Thanks for responses in advance!

Hi kristaps

Heres a link where to find an engine identification number on x type. Might be an idea to name and shame these boys if it is found the same engine so no body else goes to the same outfit

What was their response when you mentioned your concerns with the "new" motor? Where are you located?

Situations like this are what God invented the golf club for.

(and also for lowering your auto insurance)

Thank you for replies!

Just some no name local dude with private service in rural Latvia, he already had a bad reputation (didn't know at the time, but now I know)
Haven't talked to them yet, hoped to get concrete evidence that engine and a lot of other parts are not changed, so could just go to police and take legal action against the scammer.

But looks like I have to go other route, that engine code gives me nothing.

If everything else fails, I happen to own quite few golf clubs.
