headlight bulbs
Hi my car is a 56 plate x type (2006 X-Type) and have just changed the outer head lamp bulbs because one had blown,i went for the Osram H1 55w because i was told they were brighter than the standard bulbs,i am now considering changing my inner headlight bulbs which are H1 super as standard, can anyone suggest a bulb type and wattage that would give a good light and still be legal.
Many thanks seasider

Firstly, welcome to the forum.
Please do an intro in the "New Members Area" when time permits.
That "56 plated" as an ID for your car is a UK specific terminology ONLY, and means absolutely nothing to the rest of the world. I would have taken it for a 1956 car, but I am OLD, and know better, and then I live in the UK Penal Colonies, so I am smarter than the average, haha, and I drink, heaps sometimes.
The bulb (globe for us) is a tricky one. ALL of the higher wattage globes draw more current, and that reeks havoc with relays, wiring, modules, and your wallet.
Not sure is the UK, but here we have Narva, Bosch, Philips, and the other no names, that have 55w bulbs with the Plus 30%, Plus 50%, and plus 100% OUTPUT. So the same current draw, just better lighting "claimed".
Google will find what the UK has in a heartbeat.
I run the Plus 100% is the S Types, and it is border line legal for where I live.
