Arrow Headlight - Disassembly

Hello,
I have an unsightly and annoying water stain on the inside of the high beam front lens ?

Has anyone developed a method to remove & replace the front clear lens from the main body of the X-Type headlight assembly...?

It appears to be held together by two plastic clips and a mastic sealant (similar to material used to seal windscreen)

All help appreciated....

I had to take one of my headlights appart to repair the adjusters.
I wrote up the process and included pictures. Have a look at
this thread;

My posting starts a little way down.

Hi Jagger,
Thank you for the reminder and marker to your previous work.... which I had also interacted with at that time. I was kinda hoping that maybe someone had perfected the lens separation - hence my post of this thread.

Do you think use of a heat-gun would help with the release and softening of the Mastic ?

The adhesive used, which I believe is buytl rubber, has a slow give under
pressure. You should lift the snaps and put thin metal under them
to prevent them from re-engaging. Then slowly pry the two halves
appart with screw drivers. I used three at different places
about an inch apart. The buytl rubber will slowly stretch to where
you can reach in and cut it with a razor blade. Once you get one
end opened enough to cut the buytl you can work your way around.
The key is slow and steady.

Hope this helps,
Pete.

There's just something about putting parts of a Kitty in the oven that seem strange, but I did remember seeing Exexpat's post about this some time ago.

Just don't get caught!
