Hello everyone:
I'm new to the forum. I have an '03 X-Type Sport 2.5 for ~2yrs now. I'll post a picture at some point. I want to say thanks in advance for your help. But, my headlights need a light tap to work. This happensfairly frequently. The bulbs are securely fastened to the housing with the spring clips. they are not loose. If I push on the inner housing that holds the bulb the light seems to turn on with the switch as it should for a few weeks. I also see the lights turn off or on when I'm on a rough road. Is there a connection with the inner housing that I don't see. Its tough when its 20 degrees outside, you get in your car and turn on the lights, and you need to get back out to smack 'em so they work. Any help would be appreciated. Jeff

The connector on the H1 bulb is probably melting. That was what mine started doing.

I have changed the bulbs a few times. I tried the Silverstar bulbs but, the bulbs blow repeatedly. I compared the filaments and they are quite a bit thinner. Probably, unable to take the voltage spikes. So I have medium high bulbs and they are brighter than regular bulbs. I have checked and rechecked the connection and mounting security and they appear ok. It happens to both sides. I will look at the plastic connector again but, I don't remember any problems. The connections were clean and dry. Thanks.
