Hi having read much excellent material on this site over the last month I would like to make a post.
I have had my 2006 Jaguar X Type 2.0D Estate a month now and aim to bring it up to a more acceptable level as it hasn't been very well looked after.
I have a leak from my power steering pump from the low pressure pipe at the bottom. The leak appears to be coming from where the right angled pipe enters the pump body.
Could someone tell me if this can be tightened or resealed before I buy a reconditioned pump for my local mechanic to fit.
Whilst I am keeping the level topped up the pump is working perfectly although I do realize it may be drawing some air in as well as leaking.
It just seems a bit of a waste to replace it unless I have to.
