Help.. ACM wont go past CD6...?
I bought a used ACM. I was reliably informed that it worked fine before it was carefully taken out. I just spent the morning installing it into my 2002 X Type.
It works! But.... I have questions...
1. How do I play playlists beyond #6? I have around 50 playlists on my iPhone.
2. I've loaded the latest software from the Dension site and still cannot select music from my iPhone. Is there something I'm not doing?

Have you read the instructions?
Disc 6 is the disc is the now playing indication.
Disc 1 is next playlist/folder
Disc 2 is previous playlist/folder
By pressing 1 or 2 you move forwards/backwards through your playlists/folders.
Not sure about your iFone problem, I gave up on the iKrapp & use a USB stick for my music....
I just remembered, if it's playing on disc 6, and you try & scroll backwards by holding down the track back button, it moves onto disc 5, but continues to work the same way, like in the vid. Don't do that

I don't have the instructions. I bought the kit used.
My radio is the regular system. No touch screen or nav.
Your instructions don't work. The buttons 1-5 just give me the first five playlists. If I hit the '2' button again it just starts playlist 2 again. Playlist 6 is weird. It is some kind of random button that goes through my songs in no order. The >> buttons just scroll through the tracks and when the playlist is don go back to the first track again.
I'm kinda pissed. I've been looking forward to using the ACM but right now all it can do is play my first five albums.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Also, the instructions are about the only thing I CANT find online! Can anyone copy theirs and send me a copy? Thanks.

OK I just read through the manual from the Dension site. You can only use the first 5 playlists off the iPod, that's it...now I remember why I went with the USB stick rather than the iPod. There is no limit to how many folders/albums/playlists you have on the USB, but with iPod is limited to 5....

If you get the updated firmware to work then you should be able to choose music from the phone itself, including any album, song, artist, etc. as well as pandora and other apps.
It can be a bit weird at times, sometimes while on pandora, I press the next button on my steering wheel and it does nothing or it switches to the music app. Usually it works fine though and I suspect a lot of it has to do with my loose dock connector on the phone which results in it disconnecting if I hit a pothole.
I never really use the buttons on the car stereo to choose music, I only use the next/prev buttons on the wheel. I have the same stereo as you, no nav, but I also have the alpine system. It shouldn't really make a difference though.
Which iphone so you have and are you sure you followed the correct firmware update procedure? Also, what firmware are you running on the ACM? You need to have the unofficial update to the latest Dension Gateway 500 firmware. If you need help, let me know and I can give you a link to it.

This is the firmware you want to install:
http://www.dension.com/sites/default...gw5d2b2101.zip
It is the latest update for the Dension Gateway 500 D2B, which is essentially a non-Jaguar version of the ACM. This update allowed me to use the screen on my iPhone 4 to pick whatever I wanted to play right from the music app. It also charges my phone, allows me to play music from Pandora, and lets turn-by-turn directions come out of the car speakers.
Once you have this installed, there shouldn't be a Jaguar logo anymore when you connect a device. Just follow the (poorly written) instructions included in the download and you should be set.
Let us know how it goes!
