Thats the battery for the remote, there is no battery for the key. It has a microchip, try your other keys. If thats your only 1, your screwed, try disconnecting the battery again but only the negative cable, touch the negative to the positive still connected cable. This drains all capacitors on the car and resets the ecus. They sometimes lockup just like your pc and do stupid stuff like this. This resets the ecu just like unplugging the you pc from the wall, and no it wont damage anything we do it all the time and this is called a hard reboot. If this doesnt do it, call a tow truck and take it to the dealer

I see this solution a lot but I'd lDrike to know how your supposed to touch them together? On my 04 xtype 3.0 the cable maybe reaches half way to the other cable. Can I use something metal to complete the connection?
