Some background: This has been my first and only vehicle since 95k miles in 2015. Since then I've kept it afloat and threw more money at it than it's objectively worth. Above are all of the symptoms (some relevant/some not), but the biggest obstacle as of yesterday is the super SICK gearbox fault warning and brake light combo that popped on yesterday. I was able to limp home, but it certainly felt different. Listen, fellas, before you go expending too much brainpower, I am in my PhD but have already taken weeks off to repair a busted spring in January. Is this something worth even fixing at this point? Should I sell it? If I do sell what should I ask? Sorry for the defeated tone of this post but this car has been a big chapter of my life but I'm at the end of my wit. Any insight is helpful.

How old is the battery? And is it fully charged? Multiple errors like this can be caused by low battery voltage with no other real issue.

Agree...
1) bad battery
2) bad battery cable

Either will give odd codes. None of your vent codes seems important, as in bad vent actuators is not related to the car running well or not. The transmission fault seems like the crux. I don't know what is going on but I would bet if you look here you will find something. My gut reaction is you have a bad ground to the transmission module.

Different tangent...I think if you are giving up on the car you are better off parting it out and selling on eBay if you have the time and the tools. These cars are not worth much retail anymore. Donating them for a tax deduction is fast and easy but worth not much...maybe a couple hundred bucks? All depends on how much time and how much space and how good your tool collection is. MOO, if I gave up on my X-Type today I would start listing parts on eBay.
