Hid headlight levelers not working
Can anyone tell me how to trouble shoot the Headlight levelers. The both worked fine when I bought the car. Now neither move at all.
I don't get any noise at either lamp when you turn on the key like they are stuck. I just put new adjusters in one side and glued the other so I know they are not jammed inside the housing.
I have JTIS but it really is no help to determine where the issue is. I know where the height sensors are, but don't know where the control module is.
Any help or ideas?

kccode1, since you are not complaining about A/C-heat issues, odds are, fuse F39 is good. So, really that only leaves the module as being bad. The odds of having both levelers in the headlights going out is pretty rare.
As for the module, it is located in the driver's side footwell area behind the plastic panel there. You will have a module with like 20 wires attached to it and another one with like 80. You want the one with the 20 wires. The other one is your tranny computer.

kccode1, if you open up the JTIS, specifically you want to look on page 20 for the module location. You can use some of the earlier pages along with the schematics page to get a better feeling for where the module is. The diagram on page 20 only shows it in the corner of the cabin to the left of the driver (for the LHD version). You know that it isn't up in the A-pillar (due to lack of space) and putting it up in the overhead would not make sense for this module. So, that really only leaves the area down by the feet. Besides, if you know about the construction of cars, there is normally a nice pocket in that area that they like to store stuff in.

Ok you are going to have to help me out a bit. I don't see how to get to a page 20 or any specific page number. If it is in the electrical guides section I just now fixed my PDF reader to get into those.
I am really just looking for how to test each component using the multimeter.

kccode1, I am temporarily without my diagrams. I am in the process of rebuilding my computer. From what I remember of the diagrams, there isn't much that you can really troubleshoot. You could remove a headlight and measure the wires going to the leveling motors in the headlights to see if you can see a fluctuating voltage as the headlights are turned on (should go up to near 12 VDC and then back to some intermediate voltage based on how the car is sitting). The rest is just seeing a voltage at the input to the computer for the 3 height sensors. The rest is all done inside of the black box. So if you have proven that there is 12 VDC going to the computer, that doesn't leave much in the way of troubleshooting.

kccode1 - Are you sure it's not the adjusters that broke?
Very common fault of the X-Type headlights.
(Do a Google search and you'll find a LOT of postings and solutions on that topic.)
There are even repair parts for that job ...

Shame on me for not reading the initial posting completely.
Just saw that you already ruled out the broken adjusters.

Catfan, that looks like the module. As for getting it out of the car, it is looking like you are going to have to open the hood of the car and undo the bolts from inside the engine bay and then that should allow you to get the module out. That is assuming the module is bolted right to the firewall. I would need to look at my car to see if that is truely the case.

Just to update you I did my JTIS working I had to install adobe reader (eventhough I have a full Pro version of Acobat X). I got the wiring diagram. I looked up the parts and there is no way I am shelling out $150 for that module. The part number is C2P2638 for anyone who needs it.
You are right there really isn't much to it. 12V in. I am guessing a rheostat in the sensor and two motors. I have not been able to test it but there can't be much on that module board to go bad other than the main chip.
Thanks a bunch for the photos. I will let you know what I find.
