HID Lights?
Hey Guys...I am new to the Jaguar Scene...Been a GM man all my life...what a new and exciting car! I have a 2004 X Type, how do I know if it has the HID headlights? Sort of a dumb question I realize, but I have 1 light burned out on the low beam side and from the cost...I sure HOPE it isn'tthe HID type!!! Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it![:@]

RE: HID Lights?
the easiest way to check it to watch them as you turn on. xenon lights (hid) on x-types will auto level when you first turn them on. if you notice your lights slightly moving at start up you have xenon lights. another way is to just compare the brightness to any non-xenon car. i have 2 cars and the difference in brightness and white-level is night and day.

Best way to know is the xenon are really white while the regular are yellow... assuming its stock bulbs.
Just trust me - you'll know by the brightness and color.
If you do have regular, consider an after-market HID conversion. I know it sounds lame, but I did it, and I dont usually ever modify my cars... It turned out amazing because our cars already use projectors.

Hi squeeker,
I'd say this.
If you're out after dark and can see where you're going, chances are you've got Xenons ( not definite, but probable ) If you can't see a blo*dy thing at all whatsover and you're scared to go out in the X when its dark chances are you got stock lights, with stock bulbs and can't see a thing.
Please let's know what you find out!

RE: HID Lights?
OK, to the three of you that offered REALLY good help, I thank you very much! I am alao a member of the Corvette Forum and I realize all members are not there to help and encourage others to participate in the forums. But for the most part, they are really a great bunch of guys "and girls" to talk with and learn from. BUT, there is always that one! LOL...By the way, I do have the conventional type of lights and I am now going to work on upgrading them...never can have too good of lights I say! Thanks again and hopefully I'll have a more meaningful post next time. Cheers!

Actually it'd be quite hard for me to have a baby! No she's not in labor yet, unfortunately. We're still awaiting the baby...I just don't have the internet so I only get to ramble on about nothing about once a week. Thats why I say so much when I do get the chance to talk....
