Ok heres the deal .. I have a 2003 X-type that did not come with HID lights... I wanted to get a Denso Based HID kit from Ebay the D2s Denso kit which are OEM not the Blue garbage you see on everyone elses car.. Has anyone tried this before the only problem I see is that the housing is made specifically for a H1 Bulb... Does the X-types that comes with HID come with a different xenon housing? Or will that same housing work? Also who has done HID conversions can you post any pics? Thank in Advance

I installed one of HID converters on my 02' X-type. Make sure you get H1 bulbs with your kit!!! I tried different bulbs before, tried to modify housing for them, but they were siiting loose and after a while it wasn't operational. I ended up buying new housing for both sides!!!
Converters (black boxes) fit right under the housing (have to take off bumber cover and housings out) Drilled a few holes in the body and fit perfectly. Also had to make a hole in housing cover to fit a wire in there.
As far as i know there is only H1 housings availble. And for being OEM i wouldn't give much weight to that. I bought this after market conversion kit and it is brighter than OEM on Jaguar.

Good question Aquill..........was wonderin that myself.
I'm sure either Nineball or IronCobra posted some pics on another thread a little while ago showing the HID effect and light emitted.
The Sportzblue bulbs I have in mine give off exactly the same bluish outline too.

Wow, he did it the hard way. I simply used nylon spacers on the driver side and 2 screws on the driver side and slid the ballast and the mount under the passanger headlight and secured it with 2 screws.
You need a long tip for your drill though. I have pictures I'll post soon.

I paid $100 off ebay.
Its a simple install, but takes a long time since you want to do it perfect with no mistakes. And don't want to break bulbs.
I'll take pics tomorrow of it turned on and all that
btw I unplugged the dim marker lights on the inside housing since those were ugly sitting next to HID lights

Hey there cobra thanks for the pics help those that were wondering, thats the way I plan on doing it if I ever get them which I've been thinking about since I've gotten the car (wife has been noticing the diff. between halogens and the hids lately so that should help!) did you run yours off the battery or from the harness? I always thought they had special connectors to accept the h1 harness as well as the shape of the bulb to fit into the bulb spot?
