Embibb: Do you have a X Type? There is no sensor, Open the hood and look right by the drivers side shock tower you should see a little push switch. This is for the hood open indicator. When hood is opened it grounds out so the computer knows it's open. If the wire comes off and touches metal OR gets shorted it thinks the hood is open.Mine came off but didn't touch anything so if the hood is open there was no indication. Some service people disconnect it while working on the engine, on mine the body shop forgot to reconnect it or just didn't know about it. Simple fix unless it's grounded out where you cant see it. You might have to Ohm out to see if is grounded. It should have at least 1000 Ohms.(I don't have the exact specs) but it is a ground connection so it doesn't have CONSTANT voltage just a ground path from the computer. That COMPUTER would be the BODY MODULE but it doesn't matter to you which one.

Default Thanks Bill

As it turns out, the error is gone this afternoon which leads me to believe there is a loose wire. Thanks for the hint
