Wow, an average of only about 2250 +- miles per year. Most owners get that within 3 months. My Wife's X-Type has about 83,500+ miles on it. She added about 62,000 miles to it since September 05.

Finally putting mine up for sale this week. After another $5K or so to replace the t-case, a/c compressor, speakers and now to replace a sagging headliner it will be back to being a great car. But I've had my run with it after $56K total cost (not incl. finance interest and fuel) I will be happy to say good-bye to it but I will miss my friends at the Jag service team who have serviced me the pasts 7 years. . . They didn't build the car and are not responsible for its poor overall quality, but they did a great job with the maintenance and repairs! Thanks to all who posted their suggestions on the things I've raised here - this forum has a wonderful bunch of folks and I wish all well and happy holidays!

Will be at 300K Miles in another two weeks
one very happy owner... original engine (never been opened), original tranny, no major work, just regular maintenance, wear and tear. So the real question ... does anyone know of other Jags with over 300K miles...or is this getting into record territory. Been googling the web ... and finding very little references to jags with over 200K miles. Would love to hear from others...

Overheating, no oil, never change timing belts, etc.
If everything is fine, engines do not wear out.

Bought my 2004 X-Type 3.0 brand new in Decmber 2003. Not sure how this will stack up against other members of the forum, as this is my first post, but I have 238,000 on my black with tan interior. Funny, when I bought the car, my friends looked at me askew, and reminded me of the reliability issues people had complained about relating to earlier models. However, none of them had even heard of the Ford Mondeo, so I simply smiled and let them talk.
My wife has leased 4 cars since I bought my Jag. Shopping for a new car (probably a TDI, I have a 75 mile round trip commute), and can't decide if I should keep her or sell her.
