'03 w/ 98K - afraid of changing anything when it reaches 100K - so smooth now - I heard some ppl having problems after changing plugs and doing a tune up.

Just posting an update-- 2003 that just hit 110K. Running better than when I purchased it 2 years ago with 77K. Put a lot miles on it in less than 2 years. Hope my luck keeps going for at least another year.

Curious to see what these people have now and updates so I'm gonna bump it.

I just hit 87lk on my 05 Sport and it's still running great. Gonna do the 100k service middle of this coming year. So far just standard oil changes/filter and fluid top ops from the dealership has kept it running smooth. That and the 60k service.

119K on my 02' Sport. Just changed the Manual trans fluid and transfer case fluid. Run strong! Just had a CEL light come on though just after getting gas...car runs good despite the light being on though.

03 X-Type with 3.0 Auto. Currently 113K miles. I bought it about a year ago at 106K miles with a spun rod bearing. Running good since the repairs.

Bought my 02 3.0 manual in 06 with 43k on it. Now at 172k and she runs GREAT!
Only problems have been cracked upper radiator hose (replaced), a recent P171 code issue (replaced fuel filter and MAF sensor, one of them did the trick), just noticed a leak from the rear diff over the weekend (next weeks project).

Smile Mileage

When I bought my 03 X in June of 2010 it had 23040 miles on it. Today it has just over 26L miles on it. The woman that I bought the car fun lived in CT and FL. When fall came she had the car trucked down to FL as she did not want to drive that far.
When spring came she had it trucked back to CT. This is the reason it had low miles. Also she took care of the car, aside from a small scratch on the driver door the car looked liked it just came out of the showroom, and still looks that way today.

'02 X 3.0 auto trans with 142,000 miles. Bought it with 85,000 January '09.

90 miles 5x a week on the interstate. Runs good but has some issues when it rains... It's gone into limp mode once or twice during heavy rains.

Bought a bike this spring so I didn't drive the X a whole lot this summer. Colder weather is on the way so it is time to get the trusty X back out.

July 2005 build, purchased in January 2008 with 17,600 miles on it. Just turned over 30,000. That's about 3500 miles per year on her on average.

2003 2.5L manual. 106,000 miles. I agree with so many of the posts above. The car is a joy to drive. It's not particularly fast (like a Mustang GT), nor is it a true sports car. But, it's very responsive, does exactly what I ask, the throttle response is instant, the engine willingly pulls to redline. I've been wanting to get a newer car, and nothing in my price range comes close to the overall feel of the Jag.

Problems so far: (that I can remember)

Driveshaft
Transfer case leaks
Throttle body failure
Coolant tank cracked
O-rings on intake manifold
Clutch master cylinder leaking
Wheel bearing noise
Headlight internals deteriorated
Reverse light switch shorted and takes out charging system/power steering fuse
Windshield squirters
Transfer case failure
