How many of you drive in sport mode by default?

Hey guys I know this is an old thread but quick question:
Does driving in Sport mode increase throttle response? I didn't think that it could do that.
And also, does using the J-Gate damage anything or wear anything out faster? (Not planning on shifting higher, just thinking it would be a bit more fun!)

I'm 72 years young but not dead yet, still young at heart.

Well I guess you'd better step outside so you don't make a mess in your house. Because I believe that newer members deserve an answer to their questions even if the subject is an older one, so they don't think they are being ignored.

I don't because when I do, there's this weird thing my car does when coming to a stop. When I coast to a stop, like letting go of the gas without pressing the brakes, and get to about 10-15 mph, it feels as if the car lurches forward. Almost as if I was stepping on the brakes suddenly. Only does this in S mode, so I avoid driving in it.

I also found that driving in Sport mode does offer me better gas mileage. Manual states that Sport mode is disabled during certain driving behaviors like during cruise control use. The sound is better too
Has anyone had isues with rough shifting in sport mode though? Like a pause and clunk from a dead stop? I had the tranny checked and the transfer case is brand New at 65K. Tran case blew at 65 and that's an all or nothing deal, sealed unit replacement only. Glad she's certified

I leave my auto in sport mode at all times, it drives more like a "normal" car to me that way. If I am gentle on the gas, it shifts like it would in normal mode. If I get on it, it is much quicker to increase the revs for me than it would in normal mode.
Plus I hate hitting top gear at 40 MPH in normal mode, it then dogs to get up to 65 unless I force a downshift. I used to leave it in "4" until I got up to 50 MPH, but is easier to set it to sport and forget it.
