Hi Rob,
with the V6, you should have the engine related details on your insurance, 500cc will affect the price you pay!!
There is actually little differnece on output or MPG just a little more from the 3.0L but I have the 2.5 and shes great!!
I would source an OBD II scanner if I were you as you can analyse the faults yourself and fix them a damn sight cheaper than the garage!!
Youll find lots of great info here, GOOD LUCK!!

X Type electrics are prone to allsorts, especially the cold and DAMP like my old ducati!!!
This could depend on the battery life, do you know when the last one was replaced?
From experience mine was a non-starter recently, twice but that was because I have not been driving regularly plus it was short drives when I was....
SELF INFLICTED!!!
If you have not been giving her a good drive at least keep her running regularly.
I had to use jump cables last time and if I have to do that again after a week without driving it will be a new battery required.
A good battery in my view will or SHOULD retain a charge for 2 weeks but due to it being a regular thing with the X Type, I would at least get the battery checked.
If the battery is failing after a good run, it could be moisture as well, but starting with the battery is no1 and plenty others will agree especially as you say she is running "fine".
If you are hearing something wrong, then it could be fuel related, or something else, good luck again Rob, enjoy your drive!!! Stu

Hi Rob, have a look at this post,
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...problem-83906/
Make sure your door is closed and also if your not near a garage trnsponder or another car. You may need a new battery, which should be a CR2032 and Id go to lidls or poundshop/land/stretcher to get them as certain shops are expensive!!!
Lidls and other discount shops do sheets of batteries and they work out a lot cheaper!!!
Hang in there!!! Stu and thanks for the friendship request, most gratefully accepted!!!
Jaglicious!!! Cheers, Stu
