Mustang FOB
Since this Jag was developed during the Ford era,
I had to try programming one of my wife's old (2007 Mustang) key fobs... well it worked like a charm
Now it only works for the Lock/Unlock function + the Boot release, but it did save me buying a FOB elsewhere
Cheers

Just found out... the red button turns the headlights on, making for a safe walk up the drive...

LOL.... I always wondered what that was!

I asked my dealer about this when I got the car and he told me that it was supposed to be nearly silent but that over time the module got dust in it and it made noise. He replaced mine under warranty and indeed it was nearly silent. Apparently it is activated/deactivated when you open the door. If you turn off the car and exit but leave the window down and go out and stick your head inside after about 15 minutes, you will not hear it. Open the door and get in the car and lo and behold, it is running.

On another note. I didn't realize an iPad fits quite perfectly in the center console and if you're using the Apple case it stays in place even on a bumpy ride.

Makes sense. Mine was buzzing. I first sprayed some air and then sprayed some WD 40 and the fan became silent. Not that the sound was overly irritating or anything. It started the buzz recently and looks like I nipped it in the bud!

Mine too has a quite loud Buzz....
Please tell me, exactly where did you spray the WD40 - so that I too may be rid of that pesky buzz.

I have just initiated your described 15 min test.... to see if mine actually stops too?
will advise on outcome shortly.

First sprayed compressed air through the tiny vents near the steering for a good 30 secs or so. Then inserted the WD 40 into the same vents very generously as far as it would go. I have no idea if that is a bad thing but it sat there overnight and my buzzing is gone. WD 40 also fixed squeaks in my center arm rest. Just sprayed all the plastic latches etc.
