I had the pleasure of meeting Jag_genius yesterday. He is a great guy and helped me out a lot. It certainly is good to use an onlineforum and actually meet a friend face to face.
If there was one word of caution he gave me is "dont kill your transfer case!" (not that you can really do that on purpose) they are expensive and on backorder. I really need to get to my T-case oil change.

Well I think it was more along the lines of I hope your TC does not die... he says that they either "explode" or they just eat up an outputbearing. the bearing even is hard to find and the exploded ones are not really repairable. He strongly suggested that the fluid be changed, and knew that it takes 600ml off the top of his head.
best way to kill are with over heating, and lack of lubrication. so check often for leaks, and dont be silly with spinning wheels....

Transfers power to the wheels...or rather (only found in 4wd or awd) it takes power from the tranny and sends power to the 2 axles through gears...hmmm...let see what could I compare it to? It gives power to the driveshafts or through driveshafts turning gears to power the wheels to spin...I'm sure I'll be corrected with a better explanation...kind of like traction control our jags have...or rather dynamic stability control!![Wink](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Wouldn't the engineering of the drivetrain also cause it to be weak? Especially when our cars have nowhere near the power a stock evo lancer has and its awd? I say something jag did made this weak...perhaps not knowing a lot about it when planning to use awd on the x?

Hey Jag Genius,
should my 2002 x-type 2.5 liter have this transfer case cooling duct as well? I remember somebody even had a picture of one on this board but I can't find it? I looked everywhere on this site?
I clearly do not have one on my jag but I would feel better if I had one. Should there be bolts on my jaguar for this cooling duct?
Thanks!
