Ideas for a mechanic needed in Queens (NYC borough) for multiple codes

Hello dear Jaguar Enthusiasts,
As I cannot get help with my Jaguar x type in rural East PA (where additionally once you leave your car IF accepted to repairs you cannot get back) where I part-time live, I am trying my luck in NY (Queens county --read NYC borough) where I also part-time live. Unfortunately here too all mechanics are terrified by the word "Jaguar" and send me to a Jaguar dealer. The Jaguar dealers are far away in Long Island from where I cannot also go home after leaving the car there and asked me $380 for diagnostic tests. Can I leave the car to a Ford dealership closer to NYC instead? Do you have some addresses of good independent mechanics in NY(C) who would not be afraid to repair my car?
Meantime I got 7 codes for her engine light and keeping traveling PA-NY and back (300 miles RT) would not like her computers and even engine itself.
Her present codes are now:
P1313
P1316
P0332
P0300
P0301
P0305
P0453
(+P1000)
I am very upset that I cannot use the car for traveling NY-PA and PA-NY.
Please help me with an advice: Are Ford mechanics good too?--Are independent mechanics good too (and which ones?)? Do I HAVE TO take the car only to Jaguar dealers?
Thank you.
Very sadly yours,
Marcela

Hi Marcela,
I can’t help you find a jag specialist near you but looking at the faults codes you have listed, this looks like a very simple engine problem. The good thing about this is virtually any mechanic should be able to sort it out, and since it is basically a Ford engine, a Ford garage would be very well positioned to make the repairs efficiently.
The codes you list are described as follows, it sort of sound like gobbledygook on it’s own but read my explanation underneath:
P0301, P0302 and P0305 are all misfires recorded on cylinders 1,2 and 5 respectively
P0332 is KS (Knock Sensor) out of range
P0453 is FTP (Fuel Tank Pressure) sensor high pressure
P1313 is misfire rate high enough to damage catalytic converter (bank 1)
P1316 is excess emissions caused by misfire
301, 302, 305, 1313, and 1316, are symptoms, not causes. They are symptomatic of a random misfire that is not specific to any specific cylinder. The random nature is helpful to know because it generally rules out injectors, spark plugs and coils etc.
P0332 is likely the cause of all the above problems, it may be as simple as cleaning and reseating/reconnecting the sensor or otherwise replacing it. Any garage, anywhere should be able to complete this and I’m pretty sure the part is available as a Ford part if you can’t get the original Jag part. It is a relatively simple job to do, there are guides on this site showing how to do it. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...t-pics-164394/
P0453 is unlikely to be related to the other issues, it is most likely faulty cabling or a faulty sensor, however it is very difficult to get to as it is on the top of the fuel tank which is under the car. That said, this code may just be a one-off occurrence and it would be worth clearing the codes and seeing if it reoccurs... you can possibly do this yourself, whatever scanner you used to read the codes should be able to clear them..
