Put a trailer on it to take your yard waste to a compost site. The gawkers will appear. Even had a smart $% make a comment while I was unloading some branches. I simply looked at him and said, "well the don't make a hitch for my TVR". Which fell on deaf ears as I could tell he didn't know what a TVR is but didn't want to seem ignorant to what I was talking about.
Finally got my wiring set up after about 5 hours of work. Used a kit from etrailer.com which only uses the light circuits to trigger a power wire which comes back from the battery. Definately not an easy installation. Not easy to get back there to solder it in.
I can't wait for camping season to start.

Dude....take $2,000 and go get an older Cherokee (XJ) or Grand Cherokee (ZJ). Can get em all day long in PA. They tow just fine.
I mean, to each his own I guess, but just be careful with loading up a trailer on the X's rear suspension. Tell me you didn't cut a hole in the rear bumper for the hitch.....
Be careful running hills, try to stay out of overdrive or you'll heat that tranny up real good.

Or take $6k, buy a 05 Jaguar X type STICK and put a hitch on it then sell your 200k Outback Sport for $2k.
Honestly, having had 3 jeeps in the family I wouldn't even buy one to part out. IMHO I'd much rather buy a CJ2a then a Cherokee, it is a better vehicle. You first need to be able to tolerate the vehicle to tow with it. Ever see one crash tested?
Too each his own. I'm simplifying. 2 vehicles is my max at the moment and if the Jag can't tow 1500-1750s then they shouldn't sell hitches.

Touche my friend. I personally don't care much for XJ's but I have friends that have no complaints with towing. My ZJ tows rather well for being on 33's. CJ2a - wheelbase a little short for my taste (I have a 1948 ****** Pickup - they are fun but I couldn't drive one everyday!)
Certainly your choice to tow, and having the stick is good, just my advice to take it easy!
